Dr. Birgit Vockentanz
MD, CCFP
Dr. Vockentanz recently joined our clinic after a move to Vancouver from Ontario several years ago.
She completed a Masters of Science program at University of Windsor and then her medical degree at University of Toronto in 1990.
After completing a general rotating Internship at the Ottawa Civic Hospital, she moved to London, Ontario where she started her career. Her practice quickly filled and as she and her husband were raising their two children, she worked diligently with care and compassion to balance her family life and her patients. Over the 27 years she had her family practice in Ontario, her patients became like her extended family.
B.C had always been calling her name and after both of her children moved to Vancouver, she knew she would be calling this beautiful city her home also. So, five years ago, her and her husband packed up and made the move!
After some time off to enjoy what BC has to offer, and as she anticipated it might, Family Medicine was calling her back. She was ready to get back to what she had so loved and missed for several years, ready to help patients with their health journey needs.
In her spare time, Dr. Vockentanz enjoys long walks on the seawall and through Stanley Park, trying new culinary experiences and volunteering at her local church. Most of all she values her time with her family, friends and adorable new Grandson!
