Research

As part of our commitment to advancing preventive and proactive healthcare, Promis Medical Centre is developing new approaches for the early detection and prevention of a range of health concerns in adults. We are working with research partners at the University of British Columbia (UBC) to bring evidence-based approaches into everyday primary care.
We invite Promis patients to participate in our research initiatives and help us evaluate how new preventive and early-detection approaches can be integrated into routine clinical practice. Our current collaboration with UBC focuses on implementing the World Health Organization (WHO) Integrated Care for Older People (ICOPE) framework in primary care, a comprehensive approach that looks beyond a single health concern to assess areas such as cognition, mobility, vitality, vision, hearing, and psychological well-being.

The project will generate important evidence on how this approach can be implemented in Canadian primary care and, to our knowledge, represents the first implementation and evaluation of ICOPE in a Canadian primary-care setting.

Your participation can help us shape the future of preventive healthcare, not only for you, but for our broader community.
